Pastor James Wright grew up in Tucson, Arizona where he was saved at the age of 20 years old. He received his ministerial license in 1986 and was ordained as an Elder in 1997, through the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, Inc. He has been married to his lovely wife, Sheila Wright since January 28, 1985. They have two children, James Martell Wright and Jessica Lynn Brown who are both married. They have one grandson, David Earl Brown, Jr.

From the time Pastor Wright was seven years old he has always had a heart focused on reaching those in need. He sold candy, worked at a local car wash, cut lawns, and held other odd jobs to help assist his mother in support of six brothers and sisters. He has always been an entrepreneur and philanthropist while serving in the body of Christ.

While in High School he was very active in Student Government, he was on the Principal/Student advisory board, remained on the honor roll and was All City Defensive End on the Varsity Football team where he received a four year scholarship to Colorado State University. Choosing rather to pursue his Entrepreneurial accomplishments he opted not to attend the University. Since 1986 he has operated and sold several businesses, he currently is the CEO of a monthly advertising publication company.

In 1996 the Lord spoke to Pastor Wright through a clarion call and imparted in him the vision of New Ark of the Covenant Church. However, at that time God had him working in another part of the vineyard. He was serving under the Leadership of Bishop Arthur Pierce at the Greater Emmanuel Grace Church in Tucson, Arizona. In 1999 he moved to San Diego and joined the Greater Apostolic Faith Temple Church Inc., under the leadership of District Elder Dwayne Shepherd; where he served as the Prison ministry director, Homeless ministry director, the Liaison to the Pastor for the ministerial staff, and the Elder's Board director.
